Developing what the heart desires

A workshop that builds apps

Appl.GongBang designs, builds, ships and maintains mobile applications in house. Nothing is handed off midway. Android and iOS are held to the same standard.

How we work

The name gongbang — workshop — describes the method, not the mood.

01

One team,
brief to release

Planning, screen design, engineering, store submission and post-launch operation are handled by the same people. Nothing is handed over, so no decision loses its reason.

02

What worked
keeps working

Every feature ships with automated tests. The whole suite runs before each release, so behaviour that used to be correct does not quietly break.

03

Checked on
real devices

Small screens, enlarged system fonts, no network at all. We verify those before submitting. Working only on a developer's machine does not count as finished.

How we build

Only as much as our hands can reach

A workshop is not a production line. We cap the number of projects open at once and finish one before starting the next.

That means we decide to remove features more often than we decide to add them. Every element on a screen, the size of a button, the length of a sentence — each is chosen deliberately rather than assembled from parts.

Platforms

Android and iOS, same standard

Google Play and the App Store differ in review criteria, privacy disclosure and advertising policy. Satisfying one does not satisfy the other, so we track both separately.

  • Flutter — Google's UI toolkit. One codebase, both platforms, same quality.
  • Firebase · Google Analytics — app health and usage measurement
  • Google AdMob — ad delivery and app-ads.txt publisher verification
  • Google Play Console · App Store Connect — review, staged rollout, versioning
  • Google Cloud — API key management and access restriction
